IF MICHELANGELO PAINTED IN KLAIPEDA. SISTINE CHAPEL
St. Joseph’s the Worker Church in Klaipeda (Smiltelės str. 27)

AMBER ROOM
Jonas’ Hill underground
There are numerous versions of what has become of the famous Amber Room: some people believe that it is been destroyed, others – that today’s high and mighties are hiding it, and some others still hope that the Room can be found. Would you like to look at the heart of amber, at the millions years old frozen history? The project will be accompanied by live experimental compositions of AMBER AMBIENT DUO, feat. Eugenijus Konstantinovas-Genys (electronics, surround sound effects) and Mindaugas Vadoklis (trumpet, surround sound effects). The project is charged.

At the festival, the historical site of St. John's Church will accommodate small, illusory beacons, with a harmony of lights and music shaping desired landscapes, facilities and epochs in your minds.

Misleading, straight, winging, or, maybe, permanent, leading somewhere or nowhere? A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Move on!

LIGHT INSTALLATION “REFLEXIO”
Castle Museum, Pilies str. 4
The idea of the installation comes from Latin word reflexio which means both a visual representation and a fixing of thoughts, careful consideration. “Reflexio” is a travelling piece of art that has already transpierced corridors of the medieval monastery in Tallinn, the abandoned railway station in Gdansk, and the 19th century fountain in Riga. The project is charged.

OLD TOWN FEAST “HAPPENING. PAGAL JURGĮ IR KEPURĖ
KCCC Arts and Crafts Courtyard, Bažnyčių str. 4
Motto of the project – “Plenty of light, sound within reasonable.” This will be a cheerful, lively Old Town, full of music, songs, and lights. The project is dedicated to 60th anniversary of Jurgis Mačiūnas‘ Happening.

The installation consists of ten thousand of red cords shaping an image of a monument. The audience is invited to join, to walk along the installation where it can hear soft sounds of meditative bells.

Traditional urban scenery and aesthetics of contemporary arts – is it possible? Is it necessary? A three-dimensional geometric shape, a cube, is filled with openwork graphics, with inner planes of decorations used, simple elements, which are an integral part of contemporary arts, of an industrial city.

FESTIVAL OPENING. LIGHT DANCE-FLASHMOB
18:00 at the Klaipeda Tourist Information Centre, Turgaus str. 7
Klaipėda Festival of Lights will start with a sudden mobilisation of lights on TURGAUS street, whereafter the Old Town of Klaipėda will be flooded with light. Everyone, who wishes to join the festival, is invited to bring phones or illuminated items with them (penlights, lighting toys). Klaipėda University’s “Leader dance” dance group will take on the role of conductors of this action of mobile lights.

HEART OF LIBERTY-LOVING LIGHT

THE HISTORY OF A HOUSE

Everything on this planet (a person, an item, a house) has its own history. Students of the university will tell the history of a house at Turgaus str. 21 in a differently, a new way, using plenty of light elements.

MOM, DAD, ME, AND THE DOG

This is the first pet night parade in Lithuania, a march of lighting four-footed along the Old Town of Klaipeda. Who will become the king or queen of the night - it is up to their masters’ inventiveness and creative enthusiasm.
